In February 1984, Messrs. Robinson and Pearman joined in forming the partnership of Burke, Robinson & Pearman, the predecessor to the current firm. Its areas of practice have long included Public Works, Redevelopment, Eminent Domain, Real Estate, Public Finance, Construction, Affordable Housing, Financial Institutions, School Districts and Litigation.

Mr. Pearman has been a California real estate and public agency lawyer for 30 years since his graduation from Yale Law School. Mr. Pearman has a statewide reputation in real estate and public agency law. He has been a member of the State Bar of California Real Property Section and Public Law Section Executive Committees. He has been a featured speaker at programs on purchase and sale transactions, transferring contaminated properties, housing and redevelopment, prevailing wages, and joint development; and author of numerous real estate and public law related articles, on topics such as joint development, redevelopment, EIRs, commercial leasing and prevailing wages.

Mr. Pearman has represented diverse clients such as the Los Angeles Housing Department; The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles; L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority; Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority; Los Angeles to Pasadena Metro Blue Line Construction Authority; Cities of Inglewood, Lynwood, San Diego; Oceanside Unified School District; Bank of America, Granite Construction; Broadway Federal Bank; The Irvine Company; Prudential Insurance; and Travelers Insurance.

Under Mr. Robinson’s direction, Robinson & Pearman LLP is a nationally recognized bond counsel firm and has, during the past 2 decades, participated in well over two hundred municipal finance transactions in California involving more than twenty-two billion dollars in aggregate principal amount. We have served as sole bond counsel, co-bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, special tax counsel and disclosure counsel.

Representative finance clients included Metropolitan Water District; The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles; Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority; Cities of Los Angeles, Berkeley and San Diego; State of California.
